GB/T 706-2026 Hot rolled section steel
1 Scope
This document specifies ordering information, dimensions, shape, mass and tolerances, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificates for hot rolled section steels (hot rolled I-beams, hot rolled taper flange channels, hot rolled parallel flange channels, hot rolled equal angle steels and hot rolled unequal angle steels).
This document is applicable to hot rolled section steels.

4 Ordering contents
Contracts for products ordered in accordance with this document shall contain at least the following technical information:
a) product name;
b) code number of this document;
c) designation;
d) model and size;
e) delivery length;
f) mass and quantity;
g) special requirements.
5 Dimensions, shape, mass and tolerances
5.1 Dimensions and representation method
5.1.1 Sectional drawings and notation symbols of hot rolled section steels (hereinafter referred to as section steels) are shown in Figures 1 to 5.
5.1.2 Sectional dimensions, sectional area, theoretical mass and sectional property parameters of section steels shall meet the requirements of Tables A.1 to A.5 in Annex A respectively. Among them, fillet radius, external surface area, moment of inertia, radius of gyration, section modulus, centroid distance, first moment of area about X-axis and tan α of unequal angle steels are reference values.
5.2 Dimensions, shape and tolerances
5.2.1 Dimensions, shape and tolerances of section steels shall comply with Tables 1 to 3. Upon the purchaser’s request, the dimensions, shape and tolerances of section steels may also be specified by agreement between the supplier and the purchaser.
5.2.2 The outer edge radiusing at flange ends of I-beams, and the outer edge and shoulder radiusing at flange ends of channels shall not allow passage of a round bar with a diameter of 0.18 tf or 0.18 tf1; the outer corner and apex radiusing at leg ends of angle steels shall not allow passage of a round bar with a diameter of 0.18 t.
