This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 9473-2008 Performance Requirements for Table Lamps for Paper Task.
The following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 9473-2008 (the previous edition):
——In Scope of Application, LED light source is added into optical source type, and table lamps for reading/writing illumination in families, classrooms and similar places and those declared to be "eye-protective" are added, see Chapter 1);
——Requirements for electromagnetic radiation and optical biosafety of human body (see 5.5 and 5.6) are added;
——Color temperature suggestions to LED luminaires (see 6.2.2.2 and 6.2.2.3) are given;
——Requirements and test methods for photochromic characteristics of light- and color-adjustable luminaries are added (see 6.3.2 and 7.3.2);
——Requirements for opacity and its test of luminaries are modified (refer to 6.3.3 and 7.3.3);
——Requirements for flickering are introduced and an indicative annex is given (see 6.3.5, Annex A);
——Requirements for noise are raised, and test methods are modified (see 6.4 and 7.4).
This standard was proposed by China National Light Industry Council.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee on Luminaire of National Technical Committee on lighting of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 224 / SC 2).
The previous editions replaced by this standard are as follows:
——GB/T 9473-1988 and GB/T 9473-2008.
Performance Requirements for Table Lamps for Paper Task
1 Scope of Application
This standard specifies the performance requirements of table lamps for paper tasks with tungsten lamp, fluorescent lamp or LED as light source and with supply voltage not exceeding 250 V (hereinafter referred to as "luminaries").
This standard is applicable to table lamps for reading/writing illumination in families, classrooms and similar places and those declared to be "eye-protective".
The test in this standard is type test. See 3.3 for its definition.
Note: the test for entrusted type-test sample is required in this standard. That the sample is qualified in the type test does not guarantee that all the products manufactured by the manufacturer are qualified. The manufacturer is responsible for the product conformity and may carry out routine test and quality guarantee in addition to type test.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 7000.1 and the following apply.
3.1
table lamp
portable luminaires placed on the furniture
3.2
table lamp for paper task
table lamp providing lighting for reading, writing and similar activities
3.3
illuminance
light flux projected on unit area, with the unit as lx.
Note: 1 lux is defined as the illuminance generated with 1 lumina light flux evenly distributed on 1 square meter of surface
