This part of JB/T 5000 specifies the ultrasonic inspection, radiographic inspection, magnetic particle inspection and penetrant inspection of cast steel as well as the corresponding quality grade of cast steel.
This part applies to the cast steel for heavy machinery. Thereinto, the ultrasonic inspection applies to the cast carbon steel and low alloy steel with thickness no less than 30mm but does not applies to the Austenite cast steel. Radiographic inspection applies to the cast steel with thickness of 5mm~300mm. Magnetic particle inspection applies to the surface and near surface defect inspection of Ferritic cast steel. Penetrant inspection applies to the surface-breaking defect inspection of cast steel.
For all the products adopted with the non-destructive inspection methods specified in this part, the information, such as inspection method, position, depth range and quality grade shall be indicated in the pattern, technical document and technical conditions for order of products.
