1 Subject Content and Application Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the service requirements of bicycle reflector in severe environment and nighttime; it shall be able to reflect the external illumination to make vehicles and pedestrians on road effectively identify the position of bicycle, thus guaranteeing traffic safety.
1.2 This standard is classified into three grades, namely Grade 1 standard, Grade 2 standard and Grade 3 standard.
1.3 This standard is applicable to various reflectors of bicycles, except the reflecting tires.
2 Terminologies
2.1 Reflector: an available component composed of one or more element(s) reflecting the return light in the direction of incident light.
2.2 Reflectors may be classified into wide angle type and ordinary type (see Figure 1).
......
.....
a. Wide angle type reflector
Reflector on any side of the horizontal reference axis of reflecting mirror, which can effectively reflect the horizontal incident light with the incident angle β ranging from 0° to 50° or more.
