5 Requirements
5.1 Raw material and fittings
They shall be selected in accordance with relevant product standard.
5.1.1 Limit of harmful matters
The limit of harmful matters in leather, fur, reclaimed leather and textile materials shall meet the requirements of Table 1; that in polyvinyl chloride artificial leather shall meet the requirements of GB 21550.
Table 1 Limit of Harmful Matters in Leather, Fur, Reclaimed Leather and Textile Materials
In: mg/kg
Item Limit
Free formaldehyde ≤ 300
Dissoluble harmful aromatic amine dyes ≤ 30
Note: see Annex A of GB 20400 for the names of banned aromatic amines. If the content of 4-aminobiphenyl and (or) 2-naphthylamine exceeds 30mg/kg, and there is no other evidence, it cannot be judged that the banned azo colourants are used based on existing scientific knowledge.
5.1.2 Metal fittings
They shall meet the requirements of QB/T 2002.1 and QB/T 2002.2.
5.2 Appearance quality and sewing (adhesion) requirements
Requirements of Table 2 shall be met.
Table 2 Appearance Quality and Sewing (Adhesion) Requirements
No. Item Requirement
1 Surface and inner material Leather and reclaimed leather The leather surface is flat, uniform in thickness, and is free from peeling, fracture or cracking. No serious creases or cuts in leather surface which allows three spots of unobvious minor disfigurements or mat patches to exist, no larger than 9mm2 for each spot.
