Functional toothpastes
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking of functional toothpastes.
This standard is applicable to toothpaste products with auxiliary prevention, alleviating oral cavity problems or certain improvement of dental conditions by adding functional components, with its functions publicized and marked on the package. Toothpaste implementing this standard shall first meet the requirements of GB 8372.

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
functional toothpastes
toothpastes, with functional components added, that not only have the basic functions, but also help to prevent or alleviate some oral problems and promote oral health. Its basic functions include: cleaning oral cavity, relieving dental stains, reducing soft mucinous deposits, whitening teeth, reducing dental plaque, refreshing breath and feeling, maintaining the health of teeth and periodontal tissues (including gums), and keeping oral cavity health
