QJ 169A-2011 Specification for aluminum alloy castings
1 Scope
This specification specifies requirements, quality assurance requirements, and delivery preparation for aluminum alloy castings produced by sand casting and permanent mold casting.
This specification is applicable to aluminum alloy castings produced by sand and permanent mold casting processes, which are designed for aerospace products.

3 Requirements
3.1 Design
3.1.1 The casting class shall be specified on the drawings by the design department or the user. Unclassified castings shall be regarded as Class III castings.
3.1.2 Generally, the following items shall be indicated on the part drawing:
a) Alloy designation, alloy standard number, casting method, casting class, heat treatment condition, and number of this specification;
Example of indication:
b) Dimensional accuracy grade and roughness of unmachined surfaces of the castings;
c) Machining datum surfaces;
d) Marking locations;
e) Areas where repair welding is not permitted;
