1 Scope This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, markings and the like of high manganese steel frogs (hereafter referred to as frogs) for railroad turnout. This standard is applicable to high manganese steel casted frogs for railway as well as high manganese steel frogs and other high manganese steel castings indicated to use this standard. 2 Normative References. The following documents contain provisions which, by reference into this standard, constitute the provisions of this standard. For dated reference, subsequent amendments (excluding corrigendum contents) to, or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply.
