本标准在CJ/T 3002-1992《聚氨酯泡沫塑料预制保温管》基础上修订而成。为适应《城镇直埋供热管道工程技术规程》，标准加重了产品与无补偿直埋敷设技术相关的有关内容修订后的标准名称为《高密度聚乙烯外护管聚氨酯泡沫塑料预制直埋保温管》。本标准规定了由高密度聚乙烯外护管、聚氨基甲酸酯硬质泡沫塑料保温层及钢管组成的预制直埋保温管的结构、技术要求、试验方法和检验规则等。
本标准适用于输送介质温度（连续工作温度）不高于120℃，偶然峰值温度不高于140℃，工作压力不大于2.5MPa保温管的制造与验收。
