yak wool
fibres with a diameter of 35μm or less obtained from yak wool
Note: Yak raw material and carded yak wool are collectively referred to as yak wool.
3.2
yak hair
fibres with a diameter of 35μm or more obtained from a yak, with the portion of such a fibre with that diameter exceeding 1/2 of the total length of the fibre
3.3
yak raw material
unprocessed blend fibres obtained from a yak, mainly composed of fluff with natural impurities
3.4
carded yak wool
yak wool obtained through scouring and industrial dehairing processes to remove yak hair
3.5
tag-locks
compact masses each with an area of 25cm2 or more, difficult to be torn apart, formed by wool, hair and impurities irregularly intertwined with each other
3.6
hair content
proportion of mass of the yak hair fibres remaining in carded yak wool after dehairing, expressed as a percentage in the total mass of carded yak wool
