本方法不适用于具有火炸药特性的物质。
方法A(第4章)适用于确定会导致沉积在规定热表面上、规定粉尘层厚度的分解最低温度和/或点燃最低温度。本方法特别适合暴露于环境中的工业设备的热表面上以薄粉尘层形式存在的粉尘。
方法B(第5章)适用于确定会导致规定样品的粉尘云或其他固体颗粒样品点燃的最低温度。本试验为在采用本部分方法A 确定的粉尘层的最低点燃温度之后进行的附加试验。
