1 Scope
This standard specifies the definitions concerned with glass surface stress and edge stress testing and the testing methods. The surface stress testing method in this standard is applicable to tempered glass and heat strengthened glass manufactured through float glass method; the edge stress testing method is applicable to tempered glass, heat strengthened glass, and laminated glass & heat bent glass for front air window in automobile.
Surface stress testing method in this standard may be referred to for the purpose of chemically tempered glass.
The testing methods are nondestructive measurement.
