This national standard specifies the basic requirements of fire protection design in nuclear power plant. This standard is applicable to the land-based thermal-neutron-reactor (such as light water, heavy water reactor, gas cooled reactor) nuclear power plant. This standard principally aims at the fire protection design of nuclear island plants; the fire protection designs of conventional island and nuclear-power-plant supporting facilities (BOP) shall not only implement this standard, but also refer and conform to the relevant national design standards.
