This standard is developed in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB/T 23338-2009 Internal combustion engines - Charge air coolers - Specification. In addition to editorial changes, the following main technical changes have been made with respect to GB/T 23338-2009: ——terms and definitions of accuracy, precision and gauge pressure are deleted (see Clause 3 of Edition 2009); ——the clause of symbols and abbreviations is deleted (see Clause 4 of Edition 2009); ——the specified conditions and technical indexes in heat exchange efficiency are modified (see Sub-clause 4.6, Sub-clause 5.6 of Edition 2009); ——the technical indexes for vibration resistance are modified (see Sub-clause 4.7; Sub-clause 5.7 of Edition 2009); ——the technical indexes for pressure pulse resistance are modified (see Sub-clause 4.8; Sub-clause 5.8 of Edition 2009); ——the technical indexes for thermal shock resistance are modified (see Sub-clause 4.9; Sub-clause 5.9 of Edition 2009); ——the technical indexes and test methods for external corrosion resistance are added (see Sub-clauses 4.11 and 5.5); ——the technical indexes and test methods for drop hammer resistance test are added (see Sub-clauses 4.12 and 5.6); ——the measurement methods for trans-heat, resistance and heat exchange efficiency are modified (see Sub-clause 5.3; Sub-clause 6.3 of Edition 2009). This standard was proposed by China Machinery Industry Federation. This standard is under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Internal Combustion Engines of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 177). The previous edition of this standard is as follows: ——GB/T 23338-2009. Internal combustion engines - Charge air coolers - Specification 1 Scope This standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage of charge air coolers of internal combustion engine. This standard is applicable to charge air coolers of internal combustion engine (hereinafter referred to as intercoolers) for automobiles, tractors and construction machinery. Other charge air coolers of internal combustion engine can also be used for reference. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
