3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 [municipal solid waste incineration] bottom ash aggregate
An inorganic granular material obtained from municipal solid waste incineration bottom ash after processing through a series of processes such as crushing, sieving and separation.
3.2 crusherrun aggregate
Bottom ash aggregate (3.1) obtained after processing of bottom ash, without classification by particle size.
3.3 coarse aggregate
Bottom ash aggregate (3.1) with a particle size of 4.75 mm or more.
3.4 fine aggregate
Bottom ash aggregate (3.1) with a particle size of less than 4.75 mm.
3.5 magnetic metal
Metals obtained from the bottom ash separation process that are attracted by a magnetic field.
3.6 heavy nonferrous metal
Metals, other than magnetic metals and aluminium, obtained from the bottom ash separation process.
3.7 metal residual rate
The ratio of the content of a specific metal in the bottom ash aggregate (3.1) to that in the bottom ash.
NOTE: In this document, the metal residual rates refer to the magnetic metal residual rate, the metallic aluminium residual rate and the heavy nonferrous metal residual rate.
4 Classification and Coding
4.1 The classifications of bottom ash aggregate according to particle size distribution and their classification codes are as follows:
—— Crusherrun aggregate: indicated by the capital Latin letter T;
—— Coarse aggregate: indicated by the capital Latin letter C;
—— Fine aggregate: indicated by the capital Latin letter X.
4.2 Crusherrun aggregate is not classified by grade. Coarse aggregate and fine aggregate are classified as Class Ⅰ or Class Ⅱ according to their performance requirements.
4.3 The classification result of bottom ash aggregate is coded using a juxtaposed coding method. The coding structure diagram is shown in Figure 1.
Example 1:
The code for crusherrun aggregate conforming to GB/T 25032 is:
GB/T 25032T
Example 2:
The code for Class Ⅰ coarse aggregate conforming to GB/T 25032 is:
GB/T 25032Class ⅠC
5 General Requirements
5.1 The bottom ash shall comply with the provisions of GB 18485. Its radioactivity shall comply with the provisions of GB 6566, and its heavy metal extraction toxicity shall comply with the provisions of GB 5085.3.
5.2 For the determination of metal residual rates, samples shall be taken separately from the same batch of bottom ash and bottom ash aggregate. The sampling of bottom ash should be carried out at the incoming stockpile, while the sampling of bottom ash aggregate should preferably be carried out from the product conveyor belt, but may also be carried out from a storage point.
5.3 Sampling of bottom ash shall be completed within 3 days of its arrival at the plant. Sampling of bottom ash aggregate shall be completed within 1 week of production. Sample preparation shall be completed within the same shift after sampling. The prepared samples shall be stored in closed containers, and testing shall be completed within 3 days.
5.4 During sampling, sample preparation and testing, appropriate safety precautions shall be taken. Relevant instruments and equipment shall be regularly maintained.
5.5 The production, inspection and use of bottom ash aggregate shall comply, in addition to the provisions of this document, with relevant Chinese standards and specifications for environmental protection, safety and information technology. The application of bottom ash aggregate shall also comply with relevant technical standards and specifications.
6 Technical Requirements
The technical requirements for bottom ash aggregate shall comply with the provisions of Table 1.
7 Sampling and Sample Preparation
7.1 Sampling
7.1.1 Sampling tools
Sampling tools shall be reusable and of an appropriate size. Sampling tools include sampling scoops, sampling shovels, receivers, sampling containers, sample labels, sampling record sheets, marking pens, etc.
7.1.2 Sampling from a conveyor belt
Sampling from a conveyor belt shall meet the following requirements:
a) Sampling shall be carried out by intercepting the material at the discharge point at the end of the conveyor belt;
b) Not less than three increments shall be taken each time, and the time interval between increments shall be not less than three times the time taken to take each increment;
