Directives for risk management of consumer products safety 1 Scope This standard specifies the general principles, procedures and methods for risk management of consumer product safety. This standard is applicable to all parties involved in consumer product safety to carry out risk management of consumer product safety at all stages of the consumer product life cycle. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. GB/T 22760-2008 General principles for risk assessment of consumer product safety GB/T 23694-2009 Risk management - Terminology 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions and those given in GB/T 22760-2008 and GB/T 23694-2009 apply. 3.1 consumer product products sold to meet the living needs of members of society [GB/T 22760-2008, Definition 2.1] 3.2 hazard potential source of injury [GB/T 22760-2008, Definition 2.3] 3.3 injury damage to personal health, property or environment 3.4 consumer product safety state of consumer product free from unacceptable risk 3.5 consumer product life cycle overall process of design, production, packaging, storage and transportation, use (including maintenance) and recycling of consumer product 3.6 intended use use of a product, process or service in accordance with information provided by the supplier [GB/T 20000.4-2003, Definition 3.13] 3.7 hazard identification process to find, list and characterize elements of risk Note 1: It is revised from Definition 3.3.3 in GB/T 23694-2009. Note 2: Such elements may include sources or hazards, events, consequences and probability.
