1 Scope
This document describes the methods for the preparation of standard solutions for the determination of impurities in chemical reagents.
This document applies to the preparation of solutions containing accurate quantities of substances (elements, ions or molecules) per unit volume, and to the determination of impurities in chemical reagents. It may be used as a reference in other fields.

4 General requirements
4.1 Unless otherwise specified, all reagents used in this document shall be of analytical grade or higher. The main reagent for the preparation of standard solutions shall be accurately weighed to within ±0.0004 g of the specified value. Other reagents shall be weighed to within 0.01 g or measured to within 0.1 mL. The standard volumetric solutions, preparations and products used shall be prepared in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 601 and GB/T 603. The water used for experiments shall comply with the specifications for Grade 3 water in GB/T 6682.
4.2 The percentages "%" used for solutions in this document are mass fractions.
4.3 The volume of standard solution for impurity determination shall be measured using a graduated pipette. Each time a graduated pipette is used, its volume shall be selected so that it does not exceed three times the volume of the standard solution for impurity determination being measured.
4.4 The volume of standard solution for impurity determination taken shall be between 0.05 mL and 2.00 mL. When the volume taken is less than 0.05 mL, the standard solution for impurity determination shall be diluted proportionally, so that the volume taken of the diluted solution in use is not less than 0.05 mL. When the volume taken is greater than 2.00 mL, the amounts of reagents and preparations added shall be increased proportionally on the basis of the original preparation method for the standard solution for impurity determination, so that the volume taken of the solution after preparation in use is not more than 2.00 mL.
4.5 Unless otherwise specified, the storage containers for standard solutions for impurity determination shall be dry, clean highdensity polyethylene bottles or borosilicate glass bottles. The acceptance and cleaning of storage containers should be carried out with reference to Annex A.
4.6 Unless otherwise specified, the storage period for standard solutions for impurity determination under sealed storage at room temperature (15 °C to 26 °C) is generally 3 months. When turbidity, precipitation or colour change occurs, they shall be reprepared.
