The user shall read the material safety data sheet (MSDS) carefully when using the solvents specified in this standard. 1 Scope This standard specifies the test methods for oil content of man-made fiber, i.e., extraction method (Method A), neutral soap washing method (Method B), optical refractive index method (Annex A), nuclear magnetic resonance method (Annex B) and rapid extrusion method (Annex C). This standard is applicable to polyester (DTY), polyamide (nylon), polyacrylonitrile (acrylon), polypropylene, polyvinyl formal (vinylon), regenerated cellulose (viscose) man-made fibers, and may serve as a reference for other types of man-made fibers. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.
