本标准规定了工业循环冷却水及锅炉用水中pH的测定方法，适用于工业循环冷却水及锅炉用水中pH在0～14范围内的测定，还适用于天然水、污水、除盐水、锅炉给水以及纯水的pH的测定。 本标准同时代替ＧＢ／Ｔ１５８９３．２—１９９５《工业循环冷却水中ｐＨ 的测定 电位法》、ＧＢ／Ｔ６９０４．１—１９８６《锅炉用水和冷却水分析方法 ｐＨ 的测定 玻璃电极法》和ＧＢ／Ｔ６９０４．３－１９８６《锅炉用水和冷却水分析方法 ｐＨ 的测定 用于纯水的玻璃电极法》。
本标准将ＧＢ／Ｔ１５８９３．２—１９９５、ＧＢ／Ｔ６９０４．１—１９８６和ＧＢ／Ｔ６９０４．３—１９８６进行了合并。
