3 Terms, Definitions and Size Designations
3.1 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply in this standard.
3.1.1 Knitted garment and adornment for infant
Knitted commodity for infant not older than 36 months and the one less than or equal to 104cm height.
3.2 Product size designation and specification
3.2.1 The size designation of the knitted garment and adornment for infant (underwear, overclothes, cover all, pajamas etc) shall be performed according to GB/T 6411 or GB/T 1335.3.
3.2.2 Other products shall be labeled of their specifications of the main positions, which shall refer to corresponding Standard or be designed by the manufacturer oneself.
4 Requirements
Product requirements for knitted garment and adornment for infant are divided into inherent quality and appearance quality. The inherent quality includes indexes such as fiber content, formaldehyde content, ph value, peculiar smell, detachable aromatic amine dyes, water-washing dimensional change ratio, seam strength, color fastness (salivaproof, water fastness, washing fastness, perspiration fastness, friction fastness, printing product washing fastness, printing product friction fastness) etc. The appearance quality includes indexes such as surface defect, specification and size deviation, size difference of itself, adopted appurtenant material and tailoring specification etc.
4.1 Grading requirements
4.1.1 The quality grades of products of knitted garment and adornment for infant are divided into high-class product and first-class product.
4.1.2 The inherent quality of the products of knitted garment and adornment for infant shall be graded by batch and the appearance quality shall be graded by piece, combine two of them and grade the quality with the minimum grade.
4.2 Inherent quality requirements
4.2.1 Inherent quality requirements are detailed in Table 1.
Table 1 Inherent Quality Requirements

4.2.2 When the labeled content of one kind of fiber in textile is less than or equal to 10%, the actual content shall not be less than 70% of the labeled content value of itself; when two or more than two kinds of fibers' contents are labeled less than or equal to 10%, therein the actual content of the fiber of better performance shall not be less than 70% of the labeled content value of itself.
4.2.3 Except for the shell fabric of the splicing position, the inherent quality of auxiliary materials such as lace, inlay, patchwork etc. for ornament are not assessed.
4.2.4 For combinatorial packed product, if the adopted shell fabrics are identical, selecting only a kind of representativeness product for the inherent quality inspection is permissible.
4.2.5 When the overclothes product consists of shell fabric and lining, assessing items of inherent quality shall be assessed respectively except for water-washing dimensional change ratio and seam strength.
4.2.6 The water-washing dimensional change ratio is only applicable to ready-to-wear (underwear, overclothes, pajamas, romper), not for other commodities.
4.2.7 Water-washing dimensional change ratio of the transverse direction of elastic products shall not be assessed.
4.2.8 The index of each item of inherent quality shall adopt the item with the lowest inspection result as the grading reference of this batch of products.
4.3 Requirements for appearance quality
4.3.1 The appearance quality grading shall be determined according to surface defect, specification and size deviation, size difference of itself, adopted appurtenant material and tailoring specification etc. Where appearance defects of different quality grades are found in one product, the product shall be graded according to the defect of lowest quality grade.
4.3.2 As for the grading requirements of surface defect, see Table 2. Only two ultimate surface defects with the same grade are allowed to exist on the same product, those exceed shall be lowered of a grade.
