1 Scope
This standard specifies the general safety requirements for rock drilling machines and pneumatic tools in the process of design, manufacturing, use and maintenance.
This standard is applicable to rock drilling machines powered pneumatically, electrically, hydraulically or by internal combustion, tools and machines driven by compressed air, and power tools and auxiliary equipment driven by non-electric power [hereinafter referred to as "product(s)" or "machine(s)"].

4 General safety requirements
4.1 General
4.1.1 Product design
The safety principle of product design shall meet the requirements of GB/T 15706.
4.1.2 Ergonomic aspects
The design of products shall conform to ergonomic principles to avoid tension and fatigue of operators.
4.1.3 Hot and cold surfaces
The surface temperature of parts that need to be held or may be inadvertently touched during the use of non-electric portable power tools and portable rock drill machineries shall meet the requirements of ISO 13732-1 and ISO 13732-3.
Pneumatic tools and portable rock drill machineries shall be designed to avoid the cooling effect of exhaust on the handle and other holding areas.
4.1.4 Sharp edges and corners
Within the accessible scope, accessible mechanical components shall not have sharp edges, sharp corners and rough surfaces that may cause injury.
The sharp edges and corners shall meet the requirements of GB/T 15706.
4.1.5 Safety signs
The safety signs provided for the products shall meet the requirements of GB 2894.
4.1.6 Information for use
The product use information shall meet the requirements of Clause 7.
4.1.7 Design of handle
The design of the handle shall be convenient for the operator to control the whole machine, and shall ensure that it cannot cause injury such as hand clamping during use.
4.1.8 Guard
Guards (such as protective covers, protective plates) shall be provided to isolate dangerous areas or components such as transmission, high temperature, circuit and fragile that may be touched by operators.
4.1.9 Power supply pressure
The adjustment pressure of the whole pneumatic and hydraulic system shall not exceed the design pressure or rated pressure of the system, and the rated pressure of the pipe joint shall not be less than the design pressure of the system.
4.1.10 Compressed air treatment device
Air-water separation device, pressure regulating valve and oiler shall be installed in the air supply pipeline.
The withstand pressure value of air supply pipeline and fittings shall be greater than 150% of the maximum air pressure in the system.
