3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this part, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
portable fire extinguisher
portable fire fighting appliance which can discharge the fire extinguishing agent in it under the effect of internal pressure to put out the fire.
3.2
effective discharge time
time from the commencement of discharge of the extinguishing agent at the nozzle to the gas point of the discharge steam in the state of full opening of the discharge control valve of the portable fire extinguisher (hereinafter referred to as extinguisher).
3.3
complete discharge
in the state of the full opening of the control valve, when internal pressure is equal to external pressure during the discharge of the fire extinguisher, it is called complete discharge.
3.4
bulk range
When an fire extinguisher sprays to 50% of the extinguishing agents, the distance between the farthest spray flow and the nozzle of the fire extinguisher.
3.5
delayed-action time of discharge
duration from the opening or the available corresponding opening state of the control valve of the fire extinguisher to the spraying of the extinguishing agent from the nozzle.
3.6
rate of residual extinguishing medium
upon the complete discharge of the fire extinguisher with rated filling, the mass percentage of the internal remaining quantity of the extinguishing agent to the filling volume of the fire extinguisher prior to discharge.
3.7
service pressure (Ps)
the internal balance pressure after the fire extinguisher filled and pressurized as rated is placed at 20℃ for 18 h.
3.8
maximum service pressure (Pms)
The internal balance pressure after the fire extinguisher filled and pressurized as rated is placed at 60℃ for 24 h.
