1 Scope
This standard specifies terms and definitions, specifications and sizes, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, labeling and storage for envelopes.
This standard applies to envelopes for domestic and international postal communications.

correspondence envelope for domestic delivery

international envelopes
correspondence envelope for delivery to other countries or regions
3.3
sealing flap
part of an envelope which is to be used to close it
3.4
folded root-edge
expandable part folded on the three sides, other than the closing side, of an envelope
