Vehicle travelling data recorder
1 Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, installation and packaging of vehicle travelling data recorders.
This document is applicable to the design, manufacture, inspection and installation of vehicle travelling data recorders.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
vehicle travelling data recorder
digital electronic recording device that records and stores data such as vehicle speed, time, position and audio and video data, and realizes data output through data communication
3.2
impulse ratio
number of pulse signals generated by the vehicle speed sensor for a vehicle traveling for a distance of 1 km
3.3
start time of travelling
time 10 s before the moment when the vehicle changes from parking state to travelling state (vehicle maintaining at a speed more than 0 km/h for more than 10 s)
3.4
end time of travelling
time 10 s before the moment when the vehicle changes from travelling state to parking state (vehicle maintaining at a speed of 0 km/h for more than 10 s)

continuous driving time
driving time of the same driver between two adjacent stop periods not less than 20 min
Note: The stop time less than 20 min is included in the continuous driving time.

start time of continuous driving
start time of the first travelling after the stop period not less than 20 min
3.7
end time of continuous driving
end time of the last travelling by the same driver before the next stop period not less than 20 min after the start time of continuous driving
3.8
overtime driving
continuous driving time exceeding 4 h
3.9
calendar day
24 h in total from 00:00 to 24:00 (Chinese standard time)
3.10
current two calendar days
calendar day on which the end time of last travelling of a vehicle falls and the previous calendar day
3.11
positioning module
function module to determine the vehicle position automatically based on the output information from different sensors
3.12
positioning accuracy
deviation between the geographical position determined by the positioning module and the actual position
3.13
position information
information of geographical position, including longitude, latitude and altitude, obtained by positioning module
3.14
data memory
storage unit integrated on the main control panel of the major unit for storing data records
3.15
protection memory
storage unit integrated in the major unit, with certain fire, water, compression and other protection capabilities, used for storing data records and audio and video records

5 Requirements
5.1 General requirements
5.1.1 Composition
Vehicle travelling data recorders (hereinafter referred to as "recorders") mainly consist of the following parts:
a) Major unit: including power supply, main controller, data memory, protection memory, clock module, communication module, positioning module, display, driver information identification module, etc.;
b) Audio and video acquisition unit;
c) Driver information IC card;
d) Other components such as wires, fuses, positioning antennas, communication antennas, etc.;
e) Data analysis systems.
5.1.2 Appearance and structure
The major unit of a recorder shall be of integral standard single ingot structure, and all modules shall be located on the major unit body. The size of the front panel of the major unit shall meet the requirements of (188 mm ± 2 mm) × (60 mm ± 2 mm); as for the major unit of the recorder mounted by the embedded vehicle instrument desk mode, the opening size shall not be greater than mm × mm.
The external surface of each component of the recorder shall be smooth and even, free from such defects as dents, scratches, cracks, deformation, etc. The surface of metal housing shall be protected by antirust and anticorrosion coating, and metal parts shall not be corroded. The display screen shall display the whole images clearly.
5.1.3 Texts, graphs and signs
The texts, graphs and signs used by the recorders shall meet the following requirements:
a) Durable, eye-catching and standard;
b) The graphs and signs used to indicate the vehicle travelling conditions comply with the provisions of GB 4094;
c) Simplified Chinese characters are used in the display, operation instructions, nameplate and signs.
5.1.4 Nameplates
A recorder shall be attached with a nameplate that shall meet the following requirements:
a) The nameplate shall be firmly installed on an eye-catching position on the surface of the major unit;
b) The nameplate is marked with manufacturer's information, Chinese name of product, specification and model, unique recorder number, power supply voltage, etc.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

vehicle travelling data recorder
digital electronic recording device that records and stores data such as vehicle speed, time, position and audio and video data, and realizes data output through data communication

5 Requirements
5.1 General requirements
5.1.1 Composition
Vehicle travelling data recorders (hereinafter referred to as "recorders") mainly consist of the following parts:
a) Major unit: including power supply, main controller, data memory, protection memory, clock module, communication module, positioning module, display, driver information identification module, etc.;
b) Audio and video acquisition unit;
c) Driver information IC card;
d) Other components such as wires, fuses, positioning antennas, communication antennas, etc.;
e) Data analysis systems.
5.1.2 Appearance and structure
The major unit of a recorder shall be of integral standard single ingot structure, and all modules shall be located on the major unit body. The size of the front panel of the major unit shall meet the requirements of (188 mm ± 2 mm) × (60 mm ± 2 mm); as for the major unit of the recorder mounted by the embedded vehicle instrument desk mode, the opening size shall not be greater than mm × mm.
The external surface of each component of the recorder shall be smooth and even, free from such defects as dents, scratches, cracks, deformation, etc. The surface of metal housing shall be protected by antirust and anticorrosion coating, and metal parts shall not be corroded. The display screen shall display the whole images clearly.
5.1.3 Texts, graphs and signs
The texts, graphs and signs used by the recorders shall meet the following requirements:
a) Durable, eye-catching and standard;
b) The graphs and signs used to indicate the vehicle travelling conditions comply with the provisions of GB 4094;
c) Simplified Chinese characters are used in the display, operation instructions, nameplate and signs.
5.1.4 Nameplates
A recorder shall be attached with a nameplate that shall meet the following requirements:
a) The nameplate shall be firmly installed on an eye-catching position on the surface of the major unit;
b) The nameplate is marked with manufacturer's information, Chinese name of product, specification and model, unique recorder number, power supply voltage, etc.
