3 Terms and definitions
3.1
vehicle electromagnetic environment
sum of all electromagnetic phenomena existing inside and outside the vehicle
3.2
vehicle electromagnetic compatibility; EMC
ability of vehicles, electrical and electronic systems/components to operate normally in the electromagnetic environment of vehicles without affecting the normal operation of other vehicles, systems/components
3.3
electromagnetic disturbance; EMD
any electromagnetic phenomenon which may degrade the performance of a device, equipment or system, or adversely affect living or non-living things
[GB/T 4365-2003, Definition 161-01-05]
3.4
electromagnetic interference; EMI
electromagnetic phenomenon in which degradation of the performance of an equipment, transmission channel or system caused by an electromagnetic disturbance
[GB/T 4365-2003, Definition 161-01-06]
3.5
limit of disturbance
maximum allowable electromagnetic disturbance level corresponding to a specified measurement method
[GB/T 4365-2003, Definition 161-03-08]
