This part of GB/T 31024 specifies the application technical framework of dedicated short range communication equipment in cooperative intelligent transportation systems, the general equipment requirements of road side unit (RSU) and on-board unit (OBU), and the technical specifications of road side unit equipment.
It is applicable to the design and development of dedicated short range communication equipment in cooperative intelligent transportation system.

5 Application technical framework of dedicated short range communication equipment in cooperative intelligent transportation systems
5.1 General framework
The composition of dedicated short range communication system is shown in Figure 1.
Key:
1——the contents in the dotted box are the contents involved in this part. OBU and RSU only realize the communication connection function of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-road communication. OBU and RSU correspond to extended application and system application respectively to realize specific intelligent traffic application.
2——extended applications such as on-board navigation, APP and OBD vehicle information acquisition.
3——system applications such as background information management platform and big data analysis platform.

5.2 General design requirements
OBU and RSU equipment shall realize the communication capability required for security auxiliary application according to the requirements of GB/T 31024.3.
OBU and RSU equipment shall be able to extend and support multiple physical layer communication protocols but not be bound to any physical layer communication protocol.
6 General requirements of RSU equipment
6.1 Communication protocol requirements
The communication protocol requirements are as follows:
a) the vehicle-road cooperative application layer communication protocol between RSU and OBU shall meet the requirements of GB/T 31024.3;
b) RSU supports the IPV6 communication and DSMP communication between on-board equipment and application system, and DSMP communication shall meet the requirements of GB/T 31024.3;

5.1 General framework
