General technical requirements for wooden furniture
1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements, inspection rules, and marking, instructions for use, packaging, transportation and storage of wooden furniture, defines the terms and definitions, and provides the classification.
This document is applicable to the quality control of the design, production, sales service, and inspection and testing of wooden furniture.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 28202-2020 and the following apply.
3.1
wooden furniture
furniture made of wooden materials such as wood and wood-based panels, except for decorative parts and accessories in the main parts and components

3.2
solid wood furniture
wood furniture with main components made of solid wood materials, with (or without) solid wood veneer or thin wood veneer on the surface, and with (or without) finishing treatment. Solid wood materials include logs, solid wood sawn timber, finger-jointed lumber, laminated timber, etc.
3.3
wood-based panel furniture
panel furniture
wood furniture with main components made of wood-based panels such as fiberboard, particleboard, sheet of plywood, blockboard and laminated lumber
3.4
solid wood and wood-based panel furniture
wooden furniture with product frame made of solid wood and the panel or the inner panel of the frame made of veneer wood-based panel

wooden furniture made of multiple materials
other wooden furniture made of all kinds of wooden materials, but not defined as solid wood furniture, panel furniture, and solid wood and wood-based panel furniture
3.6
outward appearance
outward visible appearance of product in initial state
3.7
inward appearance
visible appearance displayed by the opening of movable component such as product doors and drawers, as well as separating components such as partitions or shelves
3.8
surface decoration
decorative treatment on the surface or edge of wooden components of furniture by painting, covering and banding
Note: The painting process includes scraping, brushing, wiping, pouring, rolling, drawing, dipping, spraying, air spraying, airless spraying, electrostatic spraying and other processes.

hardware
metal component that meets the requirements of furniture design and structure, and serves as a connecting, movable, fastening, supporting, and decorative element in furniture
3.10
flexible materials
curlable and flexible, thin sheet covering material, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic film, etc.

overlaid materials
sheet overlaid materials or high-pressure decorative panels with a certain degree of stiffness, such as veneer lumber, veneer, plastic veneer, and metal sheet

4 Classification
The main components and products of wooden furniture are classified according to Annex A.
5 Requirements

The main dimensions and their deviations shall meet those specified in Table 1.
