1 Scope
This part of GB/T 10357 specifies two stability test methods for straight-back chairs and stools: test method and calculation method. The force application method and position of these two test methods are the same and the obtained test results are equivalent.
This part is applicable to various chairs and stools which are applied to household, hotel, restaurant, etc., as well as deck chair adjusted to straight back state and chair with tilting backrest.
This part is not applicable to multi-seat stacked chairs and other multi-purpose chairs, as well as deck chairs adjusted to lying state and chairs with tilting backrest.
2 General Test Conditions
2.1 Specimen
The specimen shall be completely-assembled delivered finished product. Where there are several assembly modes, it shall be assembled and tested with mode which is most unfavorable to the stability and recorded in the inspection report. Unless otherwise specified, the connecting piece shall not be fastened again during the test.
2.2 Precision
Unless otherwise specified, the following measurement precisions shall be adopted:
- Loading force: ±5% of the rated value;
- Mass: ±1% of the rated value;
- Size: ±1mm;
- Position precision of loading pad: ±5mm.
Note: the applied force may be replaced by mass and the conversion relationship is 10N=1kg.
