This standard is about the testing methods for performance of probe products used in ultrasonic flaw detection and is applicable to normal probe, angle probe, double crystal normal probe and immersion type probe with basic frequency of 1~5MHz.
1 Terminologies
Terminologies used in this standard are in conformity with the requirements of JB/T 7406.1-1994 Testing Machines - Terminology, JB/T 7406.2-1994 Nondestructive Testing - Terminology and Annex A (Supplement).
2 Testing Conditions and Equipment
2.1 Base conditions
Base conditions for testing: 20℃±2℃ in temperature, 45%~75% in relative humidity and 86~106kPa in atmospheric pressure.
If there is no doubt in the testing, the testing temperature can be 10~30℃.
The atmospheric conditions during testing shall be indicated in testing report.
2.2 Probe line
Probe line matched with the tested probe is adopted and all parameters of the probe shall be tested together with the probe line.
2.3 Couplant
a. Synthetic spindle oil (GB/T 442-1964 Synthetic Spindle Oils) is adopted for the testing of direct contact type probe.
b. Tap water which has been kept still for 24h is adopted for the testing of immersion type probe.
2.4 Probe pressing block
2~3kg probe pressing block is adopted for the testing of direct contact type probe.
2.5 Main testing equipment and their technical requirements
1 Terminologies
