3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 17213.1 and the following apply.
3.1
plunger flow control valve
valve in which the crank link mechanism drives the plunger to move axially so that the throttling area is changed to fulfill the flow control function
3.2
deviation of rated travel
difference between the actual travel and the rated travel, expressed as a percentage of the rated travel
3.3
inherent flow characteristic
relationship between relative flow coefficient and relative travel, in which the former is the ratio of the flow coefficient for a given travel to the rated flow coefficient while the latter is the ratio of a given travel to the rated travel, where the travel is the distance that the plunger moves from the closed position
4 Structure types, model designation and parameters
4.1 Structure types
Plunger flow control valves (hereinafter referred to as “plunger valves”), by the form of the throttling element, are divided into slotted plunger valve, perforated plunger valve, vaned plunger valve, seat ring plunger valve and composite plunger valve. Typical structures are shown in Figures 1 ~ 4.
