1 Scope
1.1 This Part specifies the structural types, series parameters and dimensions, permissible loads, materials, as well as manufacture, inspection, acceptance and installation technical requirements of the saddle supports.
1.2 This Part is applicable to the saddle supports of steel horizontal vessels supported by two points. As for the saddle supports of steel horizontal vessels supported by several points, their structural types and dimensions may make reference to this standard.
1.3 Design conditions of saddle supports in this Part:
a) Design temperature : 200℃;
b) Seismic intensity: Intensity 8 (Category II site soil).
2 Normative References
The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this Part of JB/T 4712. For dated reference, subsequent amendments to (excluding correction to), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, the parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies.
GB/T 985 Basic forms and sizes of weld grooves for gas welding, manual arc welding and gas-shielded arc welding
GB/T 1804 General tolerances-tolerances for linear and angular dimensions without individual tolerance indications
3 Type Characteristics
Saddle supports are divided into light-duty (code A) and heavy-duty (code B) ones.
Heavy-duty saddle supports are divided into five models according to the manufacture mode, wrap angle and attached subplate condition; structure characteristics of each model of saddle supports are detailed in Table 1.
