1 General provisions
1.0.1 This standard is formulated with a view to ensuring the quality of liquid internal coatings for steel tank to extend its service life.
1.0.2 This standard is applicable to the design, application, and acceptance of liquid internal coatings for steel tanks with storage mediums of crude oil, sewage and clean water with a temperature not exceeding 120℃. Coating materials for domestic water tanks shall meet the requirements of relevant hygienic standards of China.
1.0.3 In addition to this standard, the design, application, and acceptance of liquid internal coatings for steel tank shall also comply with the requirements of the current relevant standards of China.
2 Coating materials
2.0.1 Internal coating materials for steel tank may be selected from solvent-free epoxy resin coating material, solvent-based epoxy resin coating material, epoxy glass flake coating material, waterborne epoxy resin coating material, urushiol epoxy coating material, epoxy phenolic coating material, inorganic zinc-rich coating material, and others with performance meeting the requirements of engineering application. If the temperature of storage medium is lower than 80℃, solvent-free epoxy resin coating material, solvent-based epoxy resin coating material, epoxy glass flake coating material, or waterborne epoxy resin coating material should be used. If the temperature of storage medium is between 80℃ and 100℃, epoxy phenolic resin coating material should be used. If the temperature of storage medium is between 100℃ and 120℃, urushiol epoxy coating material or other high temperature resistant coating materials should be used.
2.0.2 The internal coating materials for steel tank shall meet the performance requirements for the corresponding items in Annex A When necessary, the coating material shall pass the medium immersion test under site working conditions. The test method in Annex C may be referred to; if H2S and other highly corrosive mediums are contained, corresponding performance requirements shall be supplemented in the design.
2.0.3 The coating material used shall be provided with the product quality certificate, test report and other product quality certification documents, as well as inspection report issued by an inspection organization with metrological certification; besides, its quality shall conform to this standard.
2.0.4 Primer paint, finish paint, curing agent, diluent, etc. for the coating material shall be compatible with each other and supplied by the same supplier. The primer paint and finish paint shall be in different colors.
2.0.5 The package of coating materials shall indicate the product name, model, net content, manufacturer, production batch No., production date and validity period, and shall be accompanied with the end-of-manufacturing certificate and product instructions. The contents of the product instructions shall cover the application scope, technical performance indexes, storage and transport requirements, mix ratio of the components, working life after coating material preparation, application method, application environment, reference dosage and other precautions.
