1 Scope
This standard specifies basic principles for safety management of coating, relevant chemicals, painting process, special painting equipment, locations and painting construction used for painting (coating, the same below).
This standard is applicable to the painting of coating and relevant chemicals (including organic solvent) on metal or non-metallic surfaces, including open-air painting, painting inside and outside buildings and structures as well as organic solvent operations such as coating, printing and polishing on plastic products, textiles, leather products, varnished cloth and others. It is also applicable to the scientific research, design, production, manufacture, transportation, construction, installation, operation (including technology exchange on operating activities and commodity exhibition) and management of coating, relevant chemicals, painting process, special painting equipment and painting plant (painting locations).
Other organic solvent operations also may be implemented by reference to this standard.
