Steel castings for rolling stock - Part 1: Technical requirements and inspection
1 Scope
This part of TB/T 2942 specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, inspection methods and rules, recording, marking and quality certificate of steel castings for rolling stock.
This part is applicable to the manufacturing and inspection of Grade A steel, Grade B steel, Grade B+ steel, Grade C steel, Grade D steel and Grade E steel castings (hereinafter referred to as low-alloy steel castings) for rolling stock and carbon steel castings for general engineering purpose (hereinafter referred to as carbon steel castings).

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 5611 and GB/T 7232 apply.
4 Technical requirements
4.1 General requirements
The molten steel shall be melted by electric arc furnace and induction furnace. Unless otherwise specified, the supply state shall be as follows:
a) Grade A steel castings shall be supplied in normalized or annealed state;
b) Grade B and Grade B+ steel castings shall be supplied in normalized or normalized + tempered state;
c) Grade C steel castings shall be supplied in normalized + tempered or quenched + tempered state;
d) Grade D and E steel castings shall be supplied in quenched + tempered state;
e) Generally, carbon steel castings are supplied in normalized or normalized + tempered state, or in a state determined through negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser.

1 Scope
This part of TB/T 2942 specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, inspection methods and rules, recording, marking and quality certificate of steel castings for rolling stock.

4 Technical requirements
