GB/T 12137-2015 Methods for leakage test of gas cylinders
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements of test apparatuses and methods for gas cylinder leakage test.
This standard is applicable to the leakage test of gas cylinders by water-immersion test or soap bubble test.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition (including any amendments) applies.
GB/T 13005 Terminology of gas cylinders
GB/T 16163 Classification of gases filled in cylinder
TSG R0004 Supervision Regulation on Safety Technology for Stationary Pressure Vessel
TSG R0006 Supervision Regulation on Safety Technology for Gas Cylinder
3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 13005 and the following apply.
3.1
water-immersion test
test method for checking the airtightness of a gas cylinder under test filled with specified pressure-gas by immersing it in a water tank
Note: The water-immersion test is suitable for the leakage test of the whole or local parts of the gas cylinder under test.
3.2
soap bubble test
test method for inspecting the airtightness of a gas cylinder under test filled with specified pressure-gas by applying test liquid to the part to be inspected
Note: The soap bubble test is applicable to the leakage test of the threaded connection between the gas cylinder under test and the cylinder valve, the valve stem of the cylinder valve, the air outlet of the cylinder valve, the fusible plug or the welded joint of the gas cylinder.
