1 Scope
This standard specifies the test method for determination of abrasion resistance for top piece of leather shoes by rotation cylindrical drum method.
This standard is applicable to top piece of leather shoes of various materials.

3 Apparatus and Materials
3.1 Abrasion machine
Abrasion machine shall meet the requirements of 5.1 in GB/T 9867 - 2008 and adopt non-rotating holder.
3.2 Abrasive cloth
Abrasive cloth shall meet the requirements of 5.2 in GB/T 9867-2008.
3.3 Balance
The balance used for weighing the mass of sample shall be accurate to 1mg.
3.4 Standard glue
Standard glue shall meet the requirements of B.2 in GB/T 9867 - 2008.
3.5 Rotating cutter
The size of rotating cutter shall meet the requirements of 5.3 in GB/T 9867 - 2008.
3.6 Abrasion machine for top piece of leather shoes
The grinding machine for top piece of leather shoes is as shown in Figure 1, which is used to cut the top piece of leather shoes into cylindrical sample. One side of the grinding machine is a grinding wheel (100 mm ~120 mm in diameter) driven by motor. The grinding wheel is white corundum, with the particle size of 60 meshes and linear speed of 15 m/s ~ 20 m/s. The other side is the holding device for top piece. Top piece sample is fixed in the holding device and can rotate with the motor of the holding device at the speed of 50 r/min~60 r/min. The distance between the grinding wheel and the holding device is adjustable, when the top piece sample gets close to the grinding wheel while rotating, the top piece will be ground by grinding wheel until it becomes a cylindrical sample with diameter of 16mm.
