1 Scope
This document establishes the synthetic rubber codification system.
This document is applicable to synthetic rubber.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.

3 Terms and definitions
No terms and definitions are listed in this document.
Character group 1: synthetic rubber code (see 4.2).
Character group 2: feature information, which is represented by three or four Arabic numerals (see 4.3).
Character group 3: optional additional information for further classification (see 4.4).
4.2 Character group 1
In this character group, the synthetic rubber code shall meet the requirements of GB/T 5576.
For the modified products of synthetic rubber and other synthetic materials, the code shall be composed of synthetic rubber code and other synthetic material code, and each material code shall be separated by the symbol "/", such as nitrile butadiene rubber/polyvinyl chloride coprecipitation rubber, with code of "NBR/PVC".
For liquid rubbers, add L in the front of rubber code and separate them with "-", such as "L-NBR"; for powdered rubbers, add P in the front of rubber code and separate them with "-", such as "P-NBR".
4.3 Character group 2
In this character group, the main features of synthetic rubber are represented by feature information. Each feature information may be represented by one or two numbers. The main feature information of different kinds of synthetic rubber is specified in Annex A. Further provisions on the main feature information are specified in Annex B.
4.4 Character group 3
This character group is optional, and relevant additional information, such as purpose, appearance, is added as needed.
5 Example of codification
5.1 For homopolymer butadiene rubber (BR), with catalytic system of neodymium (Nd), mooney viscosity range of 40-49, non-oil-filled, its codification is BR 1240, as shown in Figure 1.
