1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, installation position, materials, requirements for appearance and surface coating, test method, test piece and testing requirements as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage of building hardware for windows and doors.
This standard is applicable to the handles for espagnolette gears, casement fastener handles, hinges, espagnolette gears, friction hinges, stay arms, latch bolts, multipoint locking gears, rollers and single point locking gears of building hardware for doors and windows (side-hung door and window, top/bottom-hung window, sliding door and window or other types). It is not applicable to the door and window hardware for specific functions like prevention of fire and burglary.
