1 Scope
This standard specifies definitions, classification, quality requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labelling, packaging, storage and transport, etc. of coconut oil.
This standard is applicable to coconut oil produced with coconut meat as the raw material and is not applicable to that produced with other raw materials.

For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

crude coconut oil
oil derived from coconut meat through the process of squeezing or leaching
3.2
refined coconut oil
coconut oil that has been refined from crude coconut oil through such refining processes as degumming, depickling, bleaching and deodorization
4 Classification
Coconut oil is classified into crude coconut oil and refined coconut oil.
