Children’s Leather Shoes 1 Scope This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, requirements, test methods, inspection items and judgement rules as well as marking, packaging, transportation and storage of children's leather shoes with main upper of natural leather, artificial leather and synthetic leather and fabricated via processes as gluing, sewing, molding, vulcanizing, injection molding and filling. This standard is applicable to normal-use children's leather shoes and infants' leather shoes. Children's leather shoes with textile or other materials upper and fabricated via equivalent fabrication process may also refer to the provisions of this standard. 2 Normative References The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. In which, Items 1~5 and serious defect items are primary items, Items 6~10 are subsidiary items. Table 1 Appearance Quality No. Item Requirements 1 Overall appearance Flat, smooth, stable, clean and symmetric (except for special designed style). The lasting shall be flat and smooth. Insoles shall be firm, flat and smooth, without obvious appearance defects. 2 Upper Leather, synthetic leather and artificial leather upper: the colour and luster, thickness, pattern and villi crudeness or fineness for the same positions of the same pair of shoes shall be basically consistent (except for special designed style). Minor defects are allowable, but crazing and crack grain (except for special upper materials as crack leather), exposure of lasting margin, white frost and disability are not allowed. In subsidiary, slight loose grain textile upper is allowed; primary shall be free from serious defects. 3 Counter-heel and toe-puff For the leather shoes with counter-heel and toe-puff, the counter-heel and toe-puff shall be upright, flat, smooth, symmetric, properly positioned and free from shrinkage deformation. 4 Heel The assembly shall be firm, even & straight and symmetric. Heels shall be uniform in size, height, colour and luster. 5 Seam allowance Neat and tight. 6 Flanging topline Basically neat, uniform, round, smooth and free from shear mouth exposure or split. 7 Accessories The assembly is firmly and basically symmetric. Without obvious appearance defects. Metal button, metal loop and various metal pieces have smooth surface. The zipper is smooth and without burrs on both ends. 8 Upper stitching The thread is regular and stitches are uniform. The degree of tightness of underside and upper threads shall be basically consistent. The primary shall be free from skipped stitching, and one slip stitch or double stitch (except for the back stitching in process design) is allowed in subsidiary but shall not exceed two points for each shoe. 9 Outsole Except for special designed style, the colour and luster, pattern and thickness at the same position of the outsoles of the same pair of shoes shall be basically consistent. Minor defects are allowed for the outsoles of leather shoes. Thickness of the outsole of forefoot action position (after subtracting pattern) is greater than or equal to 3.0mm. 10 Size 1 For the same pair of shoes, the allowable length tolerance of foreparts is less than or equal to 2.0mm, the allowable height tolerance of heel parts is less than or equal to 2.0mm; for boots, the allowable height (<205mm) tolerance of heel part is less than or equal to 3.0mm, and the allowable height (≥205mm) tolerance is less than or equal to 4.0mm. 2 For the same pair of shoes, the allowable length tolerance of outsoles is less than or equal to 2.0mm, the allowable width tolerance is less than or equal to 1.5mm, and the allowable thickness tolerance is less than or equal to 1.0mm. 3 For the same pair of shoes, the allowable height tolerance of heels is less than or equal to 1.5mm and the allowable tolerance of toe springs is less than or equal to 2.0mm. 4 The tilting of back seam is less than or equal to 2.0mm. Note 1: For shoe size ≤150mm, it is not required to assess the thickness of outsole of forefoot action position after subtracting pattern. Note 2: The appearance quality defects not listed in the table are treated according to similar items in the table. Note 3: Any of the following defects, if appeared, is severe defect: for the same pair of shoes, the allowable length tolerance of foreparts exceeds 4.0mm, the allowable height tolerance of heel parts exceeds 4.0mm; for boots, the allowable height (<205mm) tolerance of heel part exceeds 5.0mm,and the allowable height (≥205mm) tolerance exceeds 7.0mm; for the same pair of shoes, the allowable length tolerance of outsoles exceed 4.0mm or the allowable width tolerance exceeds 3.0mm. 5.3 Requirements for physical and mechanical performance (not required for infants' leather shoes)
