1 Scope
This standard specifies terms and definitions, order information, grouping and codification, dimensions, profiles, weight and allowable deviation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate for carbon spring steel wire for significant use.
This standard is applicable to carbon spring steel wire (hereinafter referred to as "wire") of which spring for significant use, e.g. bearing dynamic load, valve, is made. The spring formed requires no quenching-tempering treatment but low temperature destressing only.
