1 General 1.1 Scope GB/T 2951 specifies the test methods to be used for testing polymeric insulating and sheathing materials of electric and optical cables for power distribution and telecommunications, including cables used in ships and in offshore applications. This part of GB/T 2951 gives the methods for loss of mass test and thermal stability test, which apply to PVC compounds. 1.2 Normative references The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this part of GB/T 2951, constitute provisions of this part. For dated references, subsequent amendments to (excluding corrections to), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, all parties coming to an agreement according to this part are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document referred to applies.
