1 Application scope This standard specifies the limits and measurement methods for exhaust emission pollutants from gasoline vehicles under two-speed idle conditions, steady-state loaded mode conditions, transient loaded mode conditions, and short transient loaded mode conditions. Moreover, this standard also specifies the methods and judgment bases for appearance inspection, OBD inspection, and fuel evaporative emission control system inspection of gasoline vehicles. This standard is applicable to the inspection for new produced vehicle at end of production line, inspection for register vehicle, and inspection for in-use vehicle, and it is also applicable to other vehicles equipped with ignition engine. 2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this standard, constitute provisions of this standard.
