—— the manufacturing method for extruded steel pipes is deleted (see 5.2.3 of Edition 2008);

1 Scope
This standard specifies the order contents, dimensions, shapes, weights, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and packing, marking and quality certificate of seamless steel pipes for liquid service.
This standard is applicable to seamless steel pipes for common fluid service.

3 Order contents
The contract or order for ordering steel pipes according to this standard shall include the following contents:
a) standard No.;
b) product name;
c) the steel grade, and the quality grade (if any);
d) dimension and specification;
e) the order quantity (total weight or total length);
f) delivery state;
g) special requirements.
4 Dimension, shape and weight
4.1 Outside diameter and wall thickness
The nominal outside diameter (D) and nominal wall thickness (S) of steel pipes shall meet the requirements of GB/T 17395. As required by the purchaser, steel pipes with other outside diameter and wall thickness may be supplied upon agreement between the supplier and purchaser.
4.2 Tolerances for outside diameter and wall thickness
4.2.1 The tolerances for outside diameter of steel pipes shall meet those specified in Table 1.

4.2.4 As required by the purchaser and indicated in the contract upon the agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, steel pipes beyond the dimensional tolerances specified in Tables 1, 2 and 3 may be supplied.
4.3 Length
4.3.1 Random length
The random length of steel pipes is 3,000 mm to 12,000 mm. As required by the purchaser, steel pipes beyond the random length range may be supplied upon agreement between the supplier and purchaser.
4.3.2 Range length
As required by the purchaser and indicated in the contract upon the agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, steel pipes may be delivered in range length.
4.3.3 Cut and multiple lengths
4.3.3.1 As required by the purchaser and indicated in the contract upon the agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, steel pipes may be delivered in cut length or multiple length.
4.3.3.2 Where the steel pipes are delivered in cut length or multiple length, their tolerances for length shall meet the following requirements:
a) if the cut length is not greater than 6,000 mm, the tolerances shall be mm;
b) if the cut length is greater than 6,000mm, the tolerances shall be mm;
4.3.3.3 Upon agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, pipes with other tolerances for cut lengths may also be supplied.
4.3.3.4 If the steel pipes are delivered in multiple length, notch allowance shall be reserved for each multiple length according to following requirements:
a) if D≤159 mm, the notch allowance shall be 5 mm to10 mm;
b) if D>159 mm, the notch allowance shall be 10 mm to 15 mm.
4.3.3.5 Upon agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, steel pipes with other notch allowances may be supplied.
4.4 Curvature
4.4.1 The curvature per meter of steel pipes shall meet those specified in Table 4.

4.4.2 The curvature of a steel pipe at full length shall not be greater than 0.15% of the total length of steel pipe.
4.5 Out-of-roundness and wall unevenness
As required by the purchaser and indicated in the contract upon the agreement between the supplier and the purchaser, the out-of-roundness and wall unevenness of steel pipes shall not exceed 80% of the tolerances for nominal outside diameter and nominal wall thickness respectively.
4.6 End shape
4.6.1 For the steel pipes with a nominal outside diameter of not greater than 60 mm, the oblique cutting at pipe end shall not exceed 1.5 mm; for those with a nominal outside diameter of more than 60 mm, the oblique cutting at pipe end shall not exceed 2.5% of the nominal outside diameter of steel pipe but shall not be greater than 6 mm at maximum. The oblique cutting of steel pipes is shown as Figure 1.
