GB/T 1499 Steel for the reinforcement of concrete is divided into three parts:
——Part 1: Hot-rolled light round bar;
——Part 2: Hot rolled ribbed steel;
——Part 3: Reinforced welded mesh.
This is part 1 of GB/T 1499
This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009
This part replaces GB/T 1499.1-2008 Steel for the reinforcement of concrete - Part 1: Hot rolled plain bars. The following main changes have been made with respect to GB/T 1499.1-2008:
——some normative references are added;
——designation HPB235 and related technical requirements are deleted;
——the upper limit of S element content is adjusted to 0.045%, and the technical requirements for residual elements in steel are deleted;
——products with a specification of 6.5 mm and related technical requirements are deleted;
——requirements for the curvature per meter of straight bar reinforcement are added;
——stricter requirements are set for the mass deviation;
——measurement requirements where yield strength is not evident are added;
——the requirement that re-inspection is not permitted in case mass deviation is rejected is added;
——surface markings such as embossed manufacturer name may be added on the surface of rebar
——Annex A (Normative) “Determination method for the total elongation of rebar at maximum force” is deleted
This standard is redrafted by reference to ISO 6935-1:2007 Steel for the reinforcement of concrete - Part 1: Hot rolled plain bars for preparation, and is not equivalent to it.
This standard was proposed by the China Iron and Steel Association.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of SAC/TC 183 National Technical Committee on Iron and Steel of Standardization Administration of China.
The previous editions of this standard are as follows:
——GB 1499-1979, and GB 1499-1984;
——GB 13013-1991;
——GB/T 1499.1-2008
Steel for the reinforcement of concrete - Part 1: Hot rolled plain bars
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 1499 specifies the terms and definitions, designation, ordering contents, dimensions, shapes, masses, permissible deviation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificates of the hot rolled plain bars for the reinforcement of concrete (hereinafter referred to as "steel bars").
This part is applicable to hot-rolled straight bars and coiled plain bars for reinforced concrete.
This part is not applicable to recycled steel bars re-rolled from finished steel.
