End-of-manufacturing batch inspection items include: kinematic viscosity, viscosity index, apparent viscosity (-30℃), pour point, foaming characteristics, water, copper corrosion and cleanliness.
Where raw materials and technological conditions would not present changes which may affect the product quality, the periodic end-of-manufacturing inspection shall meet the following requirements: flash point (opening) shall be determined for every ten lots (those insufficient to ten lots shall be determined annually), and demulsibility shall be determined for every five lots (those insufficient to five lots shall be determined annually); liquid phase corrosion (Method B) shall be determined for every ten lots (those insufficient to ten lots shall be determined annually); oxidation stability, scuffing load capacity (four-ball method), wear resistance (four-ball machine method), scuffing load capacity (FZG visual observation), and shear stability shall be inspected at least once every year.
5.1.2 Type inspection
Type inspection items include all the items specified in the technical requirements of Chapter 4.
Type inspection is carried out under the following conditions:
a) Beginning of production or type approval inspection of new products;
b) Significant changes of raw materials and manufacturing techniques which may affect the product quality;
c) The result of end-of-manufacturing inspection is greatly different to the previous type inspection result.
