Safety of motor vehicle product—Guidelines for risk assessment and risk control
1 Scope
This standard specifies the basic process of risk assessment and the basic method of risk control for the safety of motor vehicle product.
This standard is applicable to risk assessment and risk control of possible hazardous events or situations of sold motor vehicle products in the process of defect analysis and identification of motor vehicle products.
2 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
2.1
hazard of motor vehicle product
an unsafe state of the complete vehicle, system, assembly or parts of the vehicle due to design, manufacture or marking, which is expressed in the form of fault or failure of the complete vehicle, system, assembly or parts
2.2
safety risk of motor vehicle product
combination of severity and probability of hazardous events or situations that may endanger personal and property safety caused by motor vehicle product hazards
Note: The hazardous events or situations in this standard include both those that have occurred and those that may occur.
2.3
severity
degree of damage to personal and property safety caused by hazardous events or situations
2.4
probability
probability of hazardous events or situations in the service life of motor vehicle products
Note: Probability is the prediction of the occurrence of hazardous events or situations, which is not equivalent to the statistics of past market fault or failure data.
2.5
risk assessment
process of determining the comprehensive level of severity and probability of occurrence of a hazardous event or situation
2.6
risk control
strategies and measures to reduce or avoid hazardous events or situations
2.7
objects of risk assessment
batch of motor vehicle products that may have faults or failures
