1 Scope
This document specifies the construction, operation, safety, environmental protection and emergency requirements for take-back service network of traction battery used in electric vehicle.
This document is applicable to the construction, management and operation of take-back service network for recovering waste and used traction battery packs, modules and cells. It also serves as a reference for the take-back service network of other types of lithium-ion batteries, such as consumption and energy storage.
This document is not applicable to places for storing lead-acid batteries used in electric vehicles.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 19596 and GB/T 26989 and the following apply.
3.1
waste and used traction battery
traction battery cells, modules, battery packs and the like scrapped in the process of research and development, production, testing, storage, transportation, use, maintenance, vehicle scrapping, echelon use, etc., which have lost their original value of use
3.2
collect
process of collecting waste and used traction battery to take-back service network
3.3
classification
process of distinguishing and classifying waste and used traction batteries according to characteristics such as product type, material system and danger degree
3.4
pretreatment
physical operations such as cleaning, insulation, leakage prevention, flame retardance, thermal insulation and discharge adopted for waste and used traction battery
3.5
storage
storage activities in the processes such as take-back, echelon use and recycling of waste and used traction battery
3.6
cut-off storage
separate storage of waste and used traction battery at a reasonable spacing in a non-open area
3.7
segregated storage
storage of different waste and used traction batteries at a reasonable spacing, which are segregated with fireproof partitions or walls, in an non-open area
3.8
detached storage
storage in different spaces or in external areas independent of all buildings
3.9
packing
generic term of containers, materials, auxiliaries, etc. adopted according to certain technical methods for protecting products and facilitating storage and transportation during the circulation process of waste and used traction battery
Note: It also refers to the operation activities of applying certain technical methods in the process of using containers, materials and auxiliaries to achieve the above purposes.
