3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 4094, GB/T 4782 and GB/T 19596 apply.
4 Requirements
4.1 If electric vehicles are equipped with controls, indicators and tell-tales as listed in Table 1, their corresponding symbols shall be indicated in accordance with the requirements of this part.

4.4 If electric vehicles are equipped with controls, indicators and tell-tales with functions other than those listed in this part, their corresponding symbols may be omitted. Otherwise, the symbols can be designed separately.
4.5 If it is deemed necessary to make the meaning of the symbols more clear and accurate, side information such as words, numbers and letters may be added to the symbols listed in this part.
4.6 The symbols specified in this part are only subjected to modification under the following circumstances. Any modification shall meet the requirements of GB 4094. It is forbidden to change basic elements of symbols or impact identifiability in use:
——Under the restriction of inherent display technologies of instruments, display screens and the like, or in order to improve identifiability of symbols, line thickness and clearance, graph proportion, radian, lead angle and other details shall be subjected to adjustment;
——Symbol contours shall be colored; dotted line and solid line of graphs shall be adjusted and colored (excluding those forbidden in the standard);
——As for the symbols expressing integral or partial shapes of automobiles, their overall contours can be modified to get close to the true shapes.
4.7 Other requirements of symbols shall meet the requirements of GB 4094.
4.8 Separate design of symbols and design principle of side information shall meet the requirements of GB 4094.
5 Display Color of Tell-tales
As for the symbols of tell-tales given in this part, their color shall comply with the requirements of this part. In addition, it is allowed to use other color specified in GB 4094 to express different working condition or meaning according to different functional requirements.
6 Shape of Symbol
See Figures 1~12 for shapes of symbols for controls, indicators and tell-tales of electric vehicles.
