Digital radiographic testing of the weld seam of welded steel tubes for the detection of imperfections GB/T 42664 Non-destructive testing of steel tubes - Automated ultrasonic testing of the weldseam of welded steel tubes for the detection of longitudinal and/or transverse imperfections 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 30062 apply. 4 Classification and codes 4.1 The classification and codes of steel tubes based on the accuracy grade of the outer diameter are as follows: a) Ordinary level: PD.A; b) Relatively high level: PD.B; c) High level: PD.C. 4.2 The classification and codes of steel tubes based on the accuracy grade of the wall thickness are as follows: a) Ordinary level: Pt.A; b) Relatively high level: Pt.B; c) High level: Pt.C. 4.3 The classification and codes of steel tubes based on the accuracy grade of the curvature are as follows: a) Ordinary level: PF.A; b) Relatively high level: PF.B; c) High level: PF.C. 4.4 The classification and codes of steel tubes based on the accuracy grade of the curvature over the total length are as follows: a) Ordinary level: PF.A; b) Relatively high level: PF.B; c) High level: PF.C. 5 Ordering information 5.1 General requirements The contract or order for ordering steel tubes in accordance with this document shall include the following contents: a) Number of this document; b) Product name; c) Steel designation (including quality grade, if applicable); d) Ordering quantity (total weight or total length); e) Manufacturing method; f) Dimensions and specifications (nominal outside diameter × nominal wall thickness, in millimetres); g) Length; h) Intended use (for steel tubes used for belt conveyor idlers, it shall be indicated; for others, it need not be indicated). 5.2 Special requirements Upon agreement between the supplier and the purchaser and specified in the contract, the purchaser may select the following requirements: a) Heat treatment of steel tubes; b) Accuracy of dimensions and shape; c) Impact test; d) Condition of tube ends; e) Weight of galvanized coating; f) Coating thickness; g) Other requirements. 6 Manufacturing processes 6.1 Manufacturing methods 6.1.1 The steel strips or steel plates used for manufacturing the steel tubes shall comply with GB/T 3274, GB/T 3524, GB/T 4171, GB/T 11253, GB/T 13237 or GB/T 19879. 6.1.2 Steel tubes shall be manufactured by HFW, SAWL or SAWH. 6.2 As-delivered state 6.2.1 The steel tubes shall be delivered in as-welded condition. 6.2.2 Upon the purchaser's request and subject to negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser and specified in the contract, steel tubes may be delivered in the condition of overall heat treatment or weld heat treatment. 6.2.3 Upon the purchaser's request and subject to negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser and specified in the contract, steel tubes may be delivered in the galvanized or coated condition. 7 Technical requirements 7.1 Designation and chemical composition of steel 7.1.1 The designation and chemical composition (melting analysis) of steel shall comply with the provisions of the designations and their corresponding standards given in Table 1. Upon the purchaser's request and subject to negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser, steel tubes of other designations may be supplied.
